Meet our Executive Director - Marian Pusey 

Marian looks after the day to day running of the Society involving the membership, events and activities, marketing, liaison with our publishers (Wiley) and the Editorial Team, looking after the Website and Training Platform and regular reporting to the Trustees to ensure that our activities and financial position remain in the interests of our members.

Marian is a dairy farmer’s daughter and has milk running through her veins which supported her career choice! After completing a food science degree Marian worked for Dairy Crest in a product development role for many years before moving into commercial positions with a couple of Irish dairy companies. Marian then moved into academia managing the Eden Dairy Technology degree course at Reaseheath College before moving to Harper Adams University where she lectured and looked after the placements for the students studying food courses. 

Marian is a committed foodie and loves to cook, trying out new ingredients and recipes on family and friends. She also enjoys travelling, particularly to France and in recent years has discovered Australia which keeps drawing her back. Marian walks regularly with her husband and dog, a Welsh terrier, plays squash, cycles and swims to keep fit. During Saturday afternoons, during the football season, Marian can be often found at the New Meadow watching Shrewsbury Town FC, where she is seasonal ticket holder!
